What's the difference between blender and food processor?

A blender is used to mix liquids and puree foods. A food processor, on the other hand can be use for chopping vegetables or making pesto sauce which require ingredients that need a lot of grinding before they are blended together with liquid in order form sauces like mayonnaise (which requires eggs) as well things such an hummus where you want whole chickpeas ground up into small pieces so it's easier blend them when adding tahini).

More powerful blenders like the Cuisinart CBT-2000 have both functions: It will chop your veggies while also blending smoothies, but it doesn't quite replace the full functionality of a Cuisinart food processor.

Still trying to decide which Cuisinart is best for you?  We have answers to your most common questions.
