It also has an amazing wifi controller, and app to help you monitor your grill and change settings no matter where you are. It also goes up to a blazing 500F.
This is all around one of the best pellet grills under 300 with the most features, the only downside is the smaller cooking area than some models in this price point.
PIT BOSS PB440D2 Wood Pellet Grill
First things first, I have to admit this pellet smoker is slightly over the 300 dollar price point. Just very slightly.
I think it is worth it for a number of reasons. First and foremost, this grill is packed with features normally found in smokers at the 500-1000 dollar range.
It has 440 square inches of cooking area, and a digital control board and display.
It can also reach temperatures up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit, making it both a pellet smoker and a pellet grill.
If you want versatility, premium features, and the ability to grill, consider spending just a tiny bit more money.

This is a neat little tabletop unit that comes in a variety of colors, red, black, green, and blue as shown. It is perfect for tailgating, camping, or using on a balcony.
It has 256 square inches of cooking area, and a temperature probe.
It has a temperature range from 180F to 500F, making it a great choice for both smoking and grilling with its digital control panel.

Masterbuilt MB20071117 Digital Electric Smoker
With this Masterbuilt smoker, we are moving into a different category of pellet smokers. This guy can smoke, but not grill.
It has four smoking racks for a staggering cooking area of 730 square inches.
This is a fully electric smoker which needs to be of course plugged in, and uses an electric heating element instead of actually burning pellets. The pellets are used for flavor, and wood chips can also be used.
If you're cooking for a large crowd, this is something to consider.

Cuisinart COS-330 Electric Smoker
This is another electric smoker that operates similar to the Masterbuilt, and does not have grilling capabilities.
It has three racks and 548 square inches of cooking area available, and can reach temperatures from 100 to 400 degrees.
While it certainly gets hot enough to grill some items, the form factor makes it difficult. You could however turn it up at the end of smoking to reverse sear your food.

Traeger is a huge name in the pellet smoker and grill product space. They are best known for their more expensive smokers.
The Traeger scout is a portable pellet smoker that can reach temperatures up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit, so it can smoke and grill!
It is also portable and compact, great for tailgating and camping. It weighs a mere 45 pounds, and includes a meat probe that connects to the controller.
It has uses a knob that can be adjusted in 25 degree increments.
It has 184 square inches of cooking space, which may be a potential draw back for some.
Unfortunately, it is already sold out everywhere, but don't worry, I'll keep my eyes out for it and let you know when it is available again.

Next on our list is the ASMOKE portable pellet smoker which is truly portable, but keep in mind it only has a 256 square inch cooking area.
Now let's talk about straight up pellet smokers under 300. The Masterbuilt MB20071117 Digital Electric Smoker provides the largest cooking area with four racks to the Cuisinart COS-330 Electric Smoker's three racks.
Remember, while you may be able to turn the temperature up on these smokers, they aren't a traditional grill and use electric coils instead of fire to smoke and cook food.
