Best Clothes Drying Rack
Here are my favorite clothes drying racks:
There are a couple of things I want to bring your attention to when you are trying to pick the best clothes drying rack.
First, think of what type of material you want the rack to be made out of. There are mostly wood and metal options on the market.
The next thing to think about is where will you use your clothes drying rack? If it is going to be out in an open area where visitors to your home can see it, you may want to pick the specific material based on your decor.
Third, how permanent do you want it to be? Will you be folding it up and putting it away every time you use it, or leaving it out all the time.
With these things in mind, here are the best clothes drying racks in a number of categories - including one multi use category! Read on to find out more!
Best Cheap Clothes Drying Rack
AmazonBasics saves the day again with their cost effective clothes drying rack. A huge bonus is that it comes in a chrome or white wood finish, so if you are looking for either wood or metal, your requirements will be met.
This is the most common style of clothes drying rack, where it is unfolded and secured at the top before use.
Best Metal Clothes Drying Rack
This all metal stainless steel indoor drying rack is a great choice if you are looking for a sturdy construction.
Another benefit is it just looks nice! I've set up my clothes drying rack in my Kitchen in a pinch, and the stainless steel will blend in nicely with any stainless steel appliances you have.
Best Wooden Clothes Drying Rack
This wooden clothes drying rack is made out of Bamboo, which makes it an eco friendly option.
Bamboo also won't rust, because it isn't made of metal! It will handle the moisture from any clothing without issue.
It can also blend in great with your home decor
When using these classic clothes drying rack styles (the Best Cheap Clothes Drying Rack, Best Metal Clothes Drying Rack, and Best Wooden Clothes Drying Rack we just talked about), make sure you completely secure the top pice when setting it up.
Otherwise it will just fall over after you load it up! As long as both ends are secure you are good to go, but I wanted to share this lesson with you that I learned the hard way.
Best Flat Clothes Drying Rack
While you can lay clothing flat to dry on the top of the clothes drying racks we just looked at, this has a much larger surface area to lay things to dry.
It is perfect for lots of sweaters or dresses.
However, this one folds differently and requires more room to store than the other models we just looked at.
It is made of stainless steel as opposed to wood, so it is important to see if it will blend in with your surroundings.
It is also sturdy enough to hang hangers off of to make the most of your clothes drying space.
Best Compact Clothes Drying Rack
This is a different style of clothes drying rack that is great for compact spaces.
You simply hang it wherever you can, and clip on your clothes! You could also use hangers with the clips.
Hangers are a great tool for air drying clothes, and help them drive faster than if the clothing was bunched together.
There are 18 clips on this clothes dryer, so you can really use your space efficiently.
Best Coat Racks for Clothes Drying
Another solution for air drying clothes is not a clothes drying rack at all, but a coat rack.
You can use the coat rack in a number of ways. I usually use mine for hoodies and sweaters, but you can also put hangers on it.
Since a coat rack is a more permanent structure, it is important to make sure it blends in with your home's decor.
If you are looking for something made of wood, this is a great option. It comes in three finishes: Cherry, Vintage Wood, and Natural, which is shown here.
This one is a great choice for drying clothes since the arms of the coat rack are distributed so far apart.
This is another great option for air drying clothes. It has a black metal finish, and once again distributed hooks.
You can really hang anything you need to dry from a coat rack like this, from sweaters, to dresses, to delicates.
